Sole Representative

Overseas companies with a substantial trading presence in their countries who have no branch or subsidiary trading presence in the UK are eligible to apply for a senior employee who has been employed for at least 12 months, familiar with their business running and procedures and able to demonstrate a background for the appropriate the role as a sole representative to come to the UK with a view of establishing their business activities n the UK.

Visa Period

Sole representative visas are usually granted for an initial period of two years, and can be extended for a further period of 3 years provided sufficient evidence can be provided to demonstrate that the sole representative has established a business in the UK and provides business accounts and evidence of salary from employment in the UK. Further the applicant must satisfy that majority or the controlling interest of the business in the UK is owned and controlled by the overseas company.

Requirement

  • You must no have a maximum permissible shareholding over 30% of the business
  • Provide evidence that your operations will remain centred by the controlling company overseas

 Dependants

Dependants including spouse and children of a sole representative can accompany or later enter the UK to join the applicant. The children of a sole representatives are entitled to free education and a spouse can take up full time employment, and dependants will be also be eligible for free health care one in the UK.

Additional Information

Before the end of 5 years stay under a Sole Representative visa in the UK a Sole Representative and dependants will be eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain in the UK
