GAT

The General Agreement relating to Trade in Services in the UK is concessionary agreements under work permit arrangements which allows an employee from a non EU company with a commercial presence of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) to be employed by a UK company for the provision of Trade in Services.

Visa Period

The applicant will not be granted a visa exceeding a maximum period lasting 3 calendar months with the UK employer.

Requirements

  • The applicant must be have necessary relevant qualification and experience
  • The applicant must have spent 12 months in employment with the non EU employer as salaried employee in a similar role
  • The contract of employment must be awarded through open tender procedure that guarantees the bona fide nature of the contract
  • The Trade in Services must be within a qualified service sector under the agreement
  • The UK employer must be awarded a Service Contract to apply for the permit
  • The applicant must apply for a visa to commence work for the UK employer
  • The UK employer must not be a self employed entity, or an employment agency
