Minister of Religion

A person wishing to come to the UK on visa as Minister of Religion will need to demonstrate that he/she has  at least being a Minster for one year in any of the 5 years immediately prior to the date on which the application is made or, where ordination is prescribed by a religious faith as the sole means of entering the ministry, has been ordained as a minister of religion following at least one year's full time or two years' part time training for the ministry; or

Visa Period

An applicant will be given a maximum period of 2 years as a minister of religion, missionary or member of a religious order to the United Kingdom.

Requirements

  • You must be seeking the visa to come to the UK as trained missionary or you have worked as a missionary and being sent to the United Kingdom by an overseas organisation
  • You must be seeking visa to come to the UK a member of a religious order and you are coming to live in a community maintained by the religious order of which you are a member and intending to teach for the establishment maintained by the order
  • You must intends to work full time as a minister of religion, missionary or for the religious order for which you are a member
  • You do not intend to take employment except within the terms of your order
  • You are able to maintain and accommodate yourself and any dependants adequately without recourse to public funds; and
  • You have achieved a level 4 International English Language Testing System for competence in spoken English and that is dated not more than two years prior to the date on which the application is made.
