Fiancé Visa

A Fiancé of a person present and settled in the United Kingdom can apply for leave to enter the UK to join their partner provided the person has an intention to marry the partner after arriving in the UK within the period the visa is given.

Visa Period

The maximum period a visa can be granted to a Fiancé to marry is 6 months, however the visa can be further be extended for a period of 3 months provided there is sufficient grounds why the marriage did not take place within the maximum period granted.

Requirements

  • The applicant must marry within a maximum period of 6 months
  • The couple intend to live together permanently together, and after marriage
  • The couple have met each other before the marriage
  • The there is sufficient funds for the applicant and adequate accommodation without recourse to public funds.

Further Information

A person who enters the UK with a Fiancé visa will not be permitted to work
After marriage the and before the expiry of the Finance visa the applicant can apply for Marriage Visa and will be permitted to work
